Now in the fifth generation of the Rocca family, the 100ha estate on the Salento peninsula – the heel if you see Italy as a boot – prides itself on production consistent wines of excellent quality from autochthonous varieties. The mild winters and hot, windy and dry summers allow Primitivo, the not to be overlooked Nero di Troia and revitalised and rich Susumaniello to consistently ripen fully. With the Ionian Sea tempering the climate and meticulous grape selection the wines are not jam bombs but rather well-balanced as well as full-flavoured.
