Originally settling in Piedmont in the mid 17th Century, four generations of the Gaja family have been producing wines in the Langhe hills. Giovanni Gaja, a local grapegrower, established the Gaja winery in Barbaresco in 1859. Today, Gaja winery owns 250 acres of vineyards in the Barbaresco district (Barbaresco and Treiso villages) and the Barolo district (Serralunga d’Alba and La Morra villages). The Gaja name became synonymous with a modernist approach to viticulture and winemaking under the leadership of Angelo Gaja with his innovative approaches in a country deemed to be falling behind international rivals. Firmly in the hands of the next generation and led by Gaia Gaja the spirit of making decisions that go against the grain of history lives on and we are proud to offer 10wines from this prestigious legend of Barbaresco and Barolo to our on-trade customers.
